Facebook Insights – Pages to Watch

Did you know……if at least 100 people like your Business Facebook Page, you can create a list of competitor Pages to watch and compare the performance of your Page and posts against similar Pages on Facebook?

You are able to monitor and compare:

  • Total number of Page Likes
  • Percentage Growth compared to the previous week
  • Number of Posts this week
  • Volume of Engagement this week

To enable this capability simply follow the instructions below.

1. Click Insights at the top of your Page
2. Scroll down to Pages to Watch and click Add Pages
3. Search for a Page you want to watch or choose from suggested Pages and click Watch Page
4. After choosing at least 5 Pages, click Done

PLEASE NOTE: If you have difficulty locating the Page you’re attempting to watch, you may need to refresh your browser and make sure that you are using the correct page username, e.g. @thevirtualassistantuk, as quite often Page Admins amend their Page username but not their Page URL so they may differ.

Also keep in mind that when you add a Page to watch, the people who manage the Page will get a notification. This notification won’t include your name or the name of your Page.

I find this insight a useful tool and for me, it highlights that the main focus on social media should be quality content over quantity of content.  Quite often I see no engagement on the Pages I watch despite a high volume of posts.  And yet their strategy remains the same!

To stop watching a Page:

1. Click Insights at the top of your Page
2. Scroll down to Pages to Watch
3. Hover over the Page you want to remove and click x

If you’re having difficulty setting this up in your Facebook Page Insights, don’t hesitate to comment below and I’ll aim to assist where I can.
